Rather than relying on direct reproduction, Mühlhäußer shapes his figures through memory, intuition, and a sophisticated command of physical mediums. His expansive material vocabulary includes hand-carved white Lasa marble, cast bronze, hand-cast aluminum, German crystal glass, graphite, and quartzite crystal sand.
A major highlight of his career is his representation in prominent institutional exhibitions. In 2024, his sculptures were featured in the major museum exhibition "Suppose You Are Not" at the Arter Museum in Istanbul (curated by Selen Ansen) alongside masterpieces from the Ömer Koç Collection by Louise Bourgeois, Maurizio Cattelan, and Andy Warhol. In 2013, he was also invited to exhibit in "Personal Structures" at Palazzo Bembo as an official part of the 55th Venice Biennale.
Mühlhäußer received his MFA (Cum Laude) from the New York Academy of Art in 2009, subsequently receiving their post-graduate Fellowship. An accomplished educator, he served as Adjunct Professor for Sculpture at the Lyme Academy of Fine Art (Connecticut) and as an instructor at the New York Academy of Art.
After living and working in New York and Berlin, he returned to Southern Germany where he founded Solidify.VISION in 2026, a premier art fabrication and design consulting firm merging traditional sculptural mastery with pioneering digital production workflows.
